Patrick Turner

Over the past 24 years Patrick has risen through the advertising ranks, from his early days as a production artist for a national advertising agency to his current role as Chief Advancement Officer at The Discovery.

Patrick began his career as a production artist in the Reno office of TBC Advertising, a national firm based in Baltimore, MD. After one year with the firm, Patrick was elevated to Art Director, creating work for clients such as Harrah’s Casinos, Lake Tahoe Visitors Authority, and Vogt western wear.

After three years with TBC, an opportunity arose to play a larger role in an up-and-coming local firm. Patrick joined Reno’s Innerest Advertising & Public Relations as Art Director, but was soon promoted to Associate Creative Director. While Patrick was at Innerwest, the agency’s client base grew from small, local clients to regional clients including Bank of the West and Barker-Coleman Communities.

Missing the energy and collaboration of a national firm, Patrick joined R&R Partners working as an art director in the firm’s Reno office. While at R&R, Patrick helped create award-winning campaigns for Nevada Commission on Tourism, Washoe Medical Center, Saint Mary’s Regional Medical Center, University of Nevada, Reno, Las Vegas Convention & Visitors Authority, and other regional and national clients.

After seven years with R&R, Patrick made the leap to the nonprofit sector. In 2011, Patrick was hired as the VP of Marketing & Communications for the Terry Lee Wells Nevada Discovery Museum (The Discovery). While at R&R Patrick had worked on The Discovery’s capital campaign and wanted to see the museum to fruition. At The Discovery, Patrick manages the museum’s brand by directing a variety of multifaceted campaigns for various programs, exhibitions and events. In the 12 years since the museum opened to the public, The Discovery has welcomed more than 1.5 million visitors making it the most visited cultural attraction in Northern Nevada.
